DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

The Department of EEE started functioning in the year 2010 with the approval of AICTE with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. It offers undergraduate programme of B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering .With Anna University's curriculum, the Department places equal emphasis on both theoretical and experimental issues in electrical and electronics engineering.

The department has well qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty who have been the driving force behind the rapid success of this department. The department has good infrastructure with well equipped laboratories. The department also has qualified and dedicated supporting staff for our laboratories. Bright and airy classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids such as LCD etc.

The department also has a library with text books and question banks, which will motivate the students for learning. Additional books are also being added frequently.

Objective

To develop the department as a center of excellence to take care of the local and regional needs related to electrical engineering activity.

To meet acute needs of trained specialists in the diverse field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

MISSION

The Department's mission is to produce quality electrical and electronics engineers with high technical knowledge and good practical basis, combined with good leadership skills and good decision making capabilities.

  • Opportunities

The Electrical & Electronics Engineering degree program prepares the graduates to enter a dynamic and rapidly changing field with career opportunities in Electric Power, Power Electronics, Microprocessors and Controllers, Integrated Circuits, Robotics and Control, Computer Hardware and Software. The demand for electrical power and electronic systems is increasing rapidly and electrical & electronics engineers are in great demand to meet the requirements of the growing industry.

Electrical and Electronics Engineers are mainly employed in industries using Electrical Power, Manufacturing Electrical Equipment, Electronic Systems, Accessories, Research and Development departments which work on energy saving devices and Software Development. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is arguably the technology which has most shaped the world we live in. All aspects of our lives are affected by the electrical power we take for granted. Electrical and Electronics Engineers are responsible for the continued safe and responsible development of this technology in all its many applications, through research, design and development, manufacture, service, marketing and consulting. To meet the needs and challenges, the department has a firm commitment to develop and produce stalwart electrical engineers of high technical knowledge combined with leadership skills, decision making, design capabilities and problem solving.
